Prescription drugs are the most common way to treat erectile dysfunction. Viagra, Cialis and Levitra are currently the most popular and effective drugs used by men who have ED. These drugs help men have an erection within 30-60 minutes after taking a small tablet and the effect can last for about 4 hours (Viagra and Levitra), or up to 36 hours as with Cialis.
You shouldn’t take any of these drugs unless they have been prescribed to you by your doctor.

Surgery

There are a few different surgical treatments for erectile dysfunction. The most popular procedure involves implanting inflatable cylinders into the two chambers of the penis called corpora cavernosa. A reservoir contains a special fluid which can be controlled via a valve placed into the scrotum. When you want to have an erection you pump the fluid from the reservoir into the cylinders and the opposite is done to end the erection. Vacuum Devices (Penis Pumps)

Erection is mainly caused by increased blood flow into the penis body. A vacuum device works by creating vacuum around the penis forcing more blood to flow into it. After the penis gets bigger and firmer a rubber band is placed at the base of the penis to keep the blood trapped inside the penis and so keep the erection firm during intercourse. Once the rubber band is removed the blood will start to flow out of the penis returning it to the flaccid state. While penis pumps work effectively, some people look at it as an unpractical (and maybe embarrassing) solution for many occasions. Vacuum devices can cause injury or serious damage to the penis if used inappropriately or excessively. Follow your doctor’s instructions to avoid any unwanted results. 

If you have one or more of the following health conditions, then Viagra and Cialis may not be good for you (unless your doctor tells you otherwise):

- Blood Pressure Problems: High or low blood pressure.

- Any health condition that can cause priapism (A medical condition in which the penis stays erect for more than four hours even when no sexual stimulation exists, maybe not all of you would mind this but it becomes painful).
